Members Evening; Saturday the 1st of July, 2017
A big thank you to all the Members who came and spent the evening with us this year! It was a great success, and we have had some lovely feedback from many of you. Our annual members evening allows our members to stay an extra few hours after we close, to enjoy the later evening here at the Centre when the animals are often more active in the cooler, quieter part of the day.
After the Centre update and welcome talk, we started with our special harvest mouse talk which allowed some great photo opportunities too. This has always proved to be popular in the past, and may well become a staple event on this annual evening.
This was followed by and extra feed for our otters and wildcats, where our kittens put on a great show making an appearance for all to see.
We were able to introduce our new stoats and weasels that have arrived recently, and talk all about their biology and adaptations. Our smaller carnivores are always more active in the afternoon and evening, so it was great being able to see them later in to the night... and again, some good photo opportunities where there for those keen on photography.
We ended the evening with another couple of extra feeds, this time with our foxes and pine martens.
While all this was going on, we had all the keepers out and about to talk to, many showing off some of the new arrivals we have had like our long eared owl chicks and little owl chicks.
So thanks once again, and looking forward to next years already! :-)
